My name is Randall and I'm an entrepreneurial digital nomad on a mission to travel to all 7 continents to better understand the world.
I’ve always been curious about why things happen in nature, why people behave in the ways that they do, and what things are like in places around the world I’ve only read about in standardized textbooks back in my motherland, the USA. This curiosity had only ever really surfaced in my life in small ways in my childhood though. A fellow student speaking in languages foreign to my own, exposure to the occasional news about a natural disaster in another country devastating enough to capture the attention of my community, or foods that piqued my interest, yet couldn’t place my finger on exactly where they came from and why they were labeled the names they were. However, in time I’d come face to face with my first opportunity to learn about the outside world, a summer mission’s trip to a neighboring country Mexico with my local church community, funded by many that would impart, metaphorically, their spirit in the trip. Honestly, I had taken for granted just how many people were involved in paying the costs and organizing the trip that would change my outlook on the grandiosity of the world and today, I may believe that it was fate that sent me on that trip. During the trip, I was able to practice my B level Spanish with local volunteers and settlers in the small towns we visited. We assisted in community projects, specifically in residential construction in less privileged towns outside major cities. I believe that I made both a secular and spiritual impact on many of those we helped during our visit and maintain relationships with many of them to-date. Ultimately, it changed my perspective on the world and began me on my quest to visit all 7 continents in the world.
A decade later, I was graced with a friendship in my hometown that had actually worked toward the same goal himself for many years with great success. In a thought experiment, one day, he paired me with a new connection through Instagram. She was well traveled, from Russia, and very similar to me in a lot of ways. It led me to begin my journey to see the world and that’s exactly what I did. I booked a ticket to Santorini, Greece with a few stops in Rome and Florence, Italy, and met my future fiancé Anita in late 2021. We fell for each other as soon as we saw each other and soon, found ourselves living the life of our dreams in paradise. After two weeks that in effect felt like years, I returned to the US, the thought experiment, a complete success. Although, this time returning home, a gripping desire to return to the thrill and adventure had became too great! I prepared for my next journey and in doing so knew that I needed to change to become the world traveler that I knew that I could a decade prior.
First, I had to restructure my small franchise consulting business to adapt to a lifestyle that demanded frequently changing time zones and an online accessibility that wouldn’t hinder performance. Second, I had to think about everything that I was going to need on my trip as if I wasn’t going to return until my voyage was complete. Thirdly, I had to build support with my friends and family to accept that I would be gone for a long time. So, I worked relentlessly for 4 months and had completed all of my preparations. I then embarked on the noble journey of an entrepreneurial digital nomad, picked up my future fiancé, and for nearly 2 years having traveled across Europe, Northeastern Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia while managing my online business, preparing for marriage to the love of my life back in the US, and growing rich with experience from dozens of differing cultures, many of which I had never heard of. I’ve visited 40 countries, I’ve built 2 businesses, and made countless connections in my global escapade. I plan on continuing this lifelong mission until I’ve visited every continent!
The true intent of this site is for me to better connect with anyone that I come across in my travels by allowing them a window into my perspectives, to help increase awareness of the sheer enormity of the world to my fellow Americans back home awaiting my return, and to offer a glimpse through the cracks of the wonders of the world to those that are restrained through either economical potential, nationality, or limited online and social accesses, but possess a similar curiosity that my 15 year old self did.
“Friendship … is born at the moment when one man says to another ‘What! You too? I thought that no one but myself’ . . .” - C.S Lewis
While the primary intent of the site is increased connection to those parties I mentioned before, I will also share my business insights, provide exposure to my following with foreign customs and beliefs, and tell stories of my adventures for all to enjoy in an aim to inspire travel, self-exploration, and support the belief that… People around the world are the same, if not very similar at the least in spirit.
